SODIUM DICHROMATE ANHYDROUS
Premium Sodium Dichromate Anhydrous Overview
General data
Sodium dichromate anhydrous (Na2Cr2O7) is a bright orange-red, odorless crystalline, inorganic compound and a powerful Chromium(VI) oxidizing agent. Primarily used in metal surface treatment (corrosion inhibition), leather tanning, and pigment manufacturing, it is highly soluble in water. Due to its high toxicity, it requires careful handling.
Industrial Applications:
- Metal Treatment & Finishing: Used for passivation and corrosion protection of metal surfaces.
- Leather Tanning: Utilized as a mordant in the tanning process.
- Chemical Manufacturing: Serves as a precursor to produce chromium compounds, pigments (e.g., chrome oxide green, lead chromate), and chromic acid.
- Textile & Dyeing: Acts as a mordant for dyeing.
- Wood Preservation: Protects wood from termites and fungi.
